Annual Health Check Declaration - 2007/08

 

Ealing Hospital has made a declaration to the Healthcare Commission assessing compliance with the Government's core standards for better health. We are publishing our declaration in order to share the information with our local community. 

 

This declaration is part of the annual health check carried out by the Healthcare Commission and the Commission will use many sources of information to cross check compliance declarations. 

 

In October 2008 the results of the annual health check will be published by the Healthcare Commission and Ealing Hospital will include the Trust’s rating on this website. Link to declaration 2007/08

Ealing Hospital has been invited by the Government to apply for Foundation Trust status.  We are one of a few NHS Trusts in NW London to be selected to apply in Wave 6.

2006/07 Annual Report

Gene Therapy Treatment Trial

Ealing Hospital is the first Hospital in England to provide under license from the department of health gene therapy for the management of Intermittent Claudication.

 

This treatment is considered in suitable selected patients with blocked leg arteries referred to the Vascular Unit of Ealing Hospital as part of a research trial that is sponsored by Genzyme, an American company.

No Smoking

Ealing Hospital is a No-Smoking site. This includes the building and the surrounding hospital grounds. We strongly advise that smoking is harmful to your health and may delay your recovery. If you are in hospital and would like to stop smoking then ask a member of staff to refer you to the hospital based stop smoking programme or contact us on the number below.

If you are not a patient, the stop smoking programme runs a number of group and one to one courses all over the Ealing borough. Contact the service on 0845 111 0155.

If you are a nurse or midwife who trained outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) and you wish to come to the United Kingdom (UK) to work, you must be registered in the UK in order to practice. It is advisable that you contact the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) before travelling to the UK to find out what you are required to do in order to become registered. If you are already in the UK, the same requirements apply.
