Infection and Immunity, Pasteur Suite

The Infection and Immunity department cares for both inpatients and outpatients on level 8 of the hospital.  There are walk-in clinics for people who wish to be screened for sexually transmitted infections.

  • Fever clinic (weekly), specialising in hepatitis and tropical medicine

 

  • Sexual health clinic (Level 8), four sessions a week, one in the evening

 

  • Genito-urinary outpatient clinic, four times a week, one late night

 

  • Young women's (19 and under) sexual health and contraception clinic

 

  • Health advisers


  • HIV outpatient clinic, four times a week


  • Emergency contraception and condoms to Genito-urinary patients


  • In-house pharmacy


  • Telephone results line for existing patients


  • HIV and sexually transmitted disease testing without referral letter


  • Complementary therapy


  • Psychosexual counselling


  • Chronic sexual health problems clinic


  • Newfill clinic for HIV patients



How to access the service

For the fever clinic a referral letter is required from your GP or consultant.

Genito-urinary patients do not require referrals from GPs or consultants.

New HIV patients are generally referred via another service; existing patients are generated from the Genito-urinary service.


Core staffing

The unit has four consultants, a dedicated team of  specialist nurses and other ancillary staff.
