Education, learning and development for all staff is one of our main priorities at the Trust. We aim to develop the skills and knowledge of staff to ensure they are updated, so that patients are given the best possible care. We believe that in developing our staff we can assist staff to have job satisfaction.

The range of development opportunities offered include:

  •   Induction for all new staff

  •   Management training

  •   Mandatory training

  •   Clinical training

  •   IT training

  •   Personal development

  •   NVQs

The Trust has a range of training facilities including:

  • A general training centre with three training rooms, a management training room, a practical training room, and an IT training room.

  • The postgraduate training centre for everyone's use, with facilities especially for clinicians.

  • A multi-disciplinary library facility with state-of-the-art information about nursing and paramedical issues.

All staff in the Trust are actively encouraged through the appraisal scheme, to have a personal development plan and are encouraged to undertake the development identified to ensure that their individual training needs are met.
