Board members
Ian Green, Chairman: appointed Chairman of the Trust from 1 April 2008 for a four year term. He has been a non-executive director since 1 November 2003 and was chairman of the Charitable Trust Funds Committee and acting chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr Green has had a varied career with the YMCA since 1987 and is currently chief executive of Kingston and Wimbledon YMCA. Mr Green has been an elected member of Ealing Borough Council since 1990, most recently serving as cabinet member for Adult Services and Housing. A former school governor, he has also served as a trustee of a number of charities. He is a Justice of the Peace and a non-executive director of Fluent Consulting.
Julie Lowe, Chief Executive: appointed Chief Executive in May 2007. Julie has over 14 years experience of working in the NHS both in London and North East Yorkshire. Her most recent post was Deputy Chief Executive/ Director of Operations at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. Her wealth of experience includes seven years at executive director level.
Keith Harlow, Deputy Chairman: appointed to serve as Deputy Chairman on 1 April 2008 having been a non-executive director since 1 May 2003. Keith is chairman of the Strategic Risk Management and Clinical Governance Committee. Formerly director of technology BBC Resources, he runs technical innovation and change- management consultancy and is a director of a small property management company. During his long career with the BBC he worked on national and international committees. Keith continues his public service work with the Heathrow Airport consultative committee and local associations. He is also director of Green Park, Manor Road and Private Property Management Group and serves as lay chair for the London Deanery.
Marie Li Mow Ching, Non-executive Director: appointed as a Non-Executive Director for a four-year term from 1 May 2008. She has enjoyed a successful career in the public sector. Her varied portfolio of responsibilities has included the recent role of divisional programme manager responsible for securing resources and setting corporate priorities for regeneration programmes of £450 million. She had also led the establishment of an Urban Development Corporation supporting the new senior management team in making the transition to the public sector. Her work at the UDC secured robust financial and performance management systems for the organisation.
Patricia Williamson, Non-executive Director: appointed as a Non-executive Director for a four-year term from 1 April 2008. She has enjoyed an extensive and successful career and is currently Group Human Resources Director at Trader Media Group delivering organisational change as the company develops its online businesses. Ms Williamson previously worked in the financial services sector in roles spanning HR, business transformation and operations.
Lynn Chandler, Non-executive Director: appointed as a Non-Executive Director in January 2008. With over 16 years financial experience in a quoted multi-site european professional business services group (BPP Holdings plc), the last 10 as group finance director. Mrs Chandler qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Young (now) Ernst & Young in 1985. Since 1993 she has been a non-executive board and committee member of Dominion Housing Group, a member of the Group Finance and Group Audit Committees and on the board of the principal trading subsidiary. She sits on the complaints panel and Treasury Steering Committee. Mrs Chandler is not politically active and does not currently hold any other ministerial appointments.
Susan Phillips, Non-Executive Director: appointed as a Non-executive Director in January 2006. Mrs Phillips has enjoyed an extensive and successful career in marketing at GlaxoSmithKline Plc (17 years) and is currently working as a freelance marketing consultant in addition to completing a variety of projects for the National Asthma Campaign and the British Thoracic Society. Mrs Phillips has also undertaken a number of voluntary roles including chairman of the Parents' Guild of a local Ealing school. Mrs Phillips' appointment is for a four-year term from 1 January 2006 to 31 December 2009. She is not politically active and does not currently hold any other ministerial appointments.
William Lynn, Medical Director and Deputy Chief Executive: appointed Medical Director in January 2004 having been acting Medical Director since July 2003. Bill joined the Trust as a consultant in the infection and immunity unit in 1996 and was appointed Divisional Director of Medicine and A&E in 2001. As Medical Director Dr Lynn is responsible for implementation of all policies on medical matters and provides leadership on training, research and development ethics and clinical governance. Dr Lynn is also the Director of Infection Prevention and Control and a board member of the Public Library of Science and Director of the International Medical Education Forum.
David Pratt, Director of Finance: joined the Trust in June 2003, having been Deputy Finance Director at University College London Hospital NHS Trust. A member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, David has worked in NHS finance since graduating from the University of Warwick. He is the chair of the London Healthcare Financial Management Association and a member of the HFMA Accounting and Standards Committee.
Paul Reeves, Director of Nursing and Clinical Practice: joined the Trust in May 2007 from University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a qualified registered general nurse he specialised in cardiothoracic and critical care. Paul has held both general management and professional senior nursing posts. An experienced NHS nurse manager having worked as Deputy Director of Nursing at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) and a Senior Nurse Manager at King’s Healthcare Trust. He is also a facilitator of the National Leading Empowered Organisations and Leadership at the Point of Care Programmes.
Paul Stanton, Director of Human Resources: joined Ealing Hospital NHS Trust on 19 May 2008 as Director of Human Resources.
Prior to coming to Ealing he was the Head of Human Resources at Barnet PCT and before this undertook senior roles within Human Resources at The Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust and Central Middlesex Hospital. He has over 16 years experience in Human Resources within the NHS.
A member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Paul has worked in HR in the NHS since graduating form De Montfort University.
Kevin Connolly, Director of ICT and ex-officio member of the Board: joined the Trust in May 2005 as Director of Information & Communications Technology (ICT). Kevin has worked in healthcare since 1992, including public and private sector experience in the UK and Ireland, with a background in IT projects, CYA, and contract management. In his previous post, he managed the implementation of the NHS Connecting for Health programme for the Hillingdon Local Health Community.
Kevin is responsible for development of the Trust's ICT infrastructure and services, including local implementation of the national Connecting for Health Programme.
